The upper eyelids are also known as drooping eyelids. If the patient is bothered by this, an upper eyelid lift is recommended. Aesthetics and functionality are always considered when treating drooping eyelids. When performing an eyelid lift, it is important that not too much tissue is removed, as this can lead to restrictions in eyelid closure. Once the anesthetic has taken effect, the excess tissue (skin, muscle, connective tissue) is removed from the eyelid. The incisions are closed with fine sutures and protected with plaster bandages. If there are no side effects, you can leave the practice accompanied by your doctor. During the first few days, it is important to cool the treatment areas regularly. In this way, you can counteract swelling and pain. The head can also be elevated to reduce swelling. After seven days, we take a look at the healing process and remove the stitches.
