Psoriasis

Psoriasis, also known as psoriasis, is a chronic inflammatory skin disease. It is not contagious, but can have a significant impact on the lives of those affected, especially in severe cases.
The characteristic scaly skin changes can occur all over the body, often accompanied by changes to the nails. Around 20% of patients develop psoriatic arthritis over time. Psoriasis progresses in relapses, whereby longer periods without symptoms can occur between relapses.
Psoriasis can often be treated locally, but in some cases systemic therapy with injections may be necessary.
