Acne scars

Acne is a skin disease that affects many adolescents as well as adults. Even after the acute phase, more severe cases leave more or less large scars on the affected areas, which do not disappear on their own. Acne scars are particularly annoying in the facial skin area, whether due to sunken or red scars.
Two laser therapies can be used effectively here.
Two different lasers can be used to treat acne scars. In fractional laser therapy with the CO2 laser, the laser beam is divided into several hundred partial beams that create punctiform micro-injuries. This stimulates the skin to renew itself and form collagen. Acne scars are thus smoothed out. We use a KTP vascular laser to treat red acne scars. This gentle laser reduces the redness through targeted obliteration of the veins.
When treating acne scars with a fractional laser, an anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand. During treatment, the affected areas are scanned with the laser head, causing micro-injuries. This is followed by redness, slight swelling and small bumps for up to 10 days. No anesthetic cream is required for the treatment of red acne scars. In this case, the area to be treated is covered with the laser in sections. After laser treatment, there is only redness and slight swelling for 3-4 days. The treated areas should be protected from the sun for four weeks. Depending on the severity of the scars, we recommend 3 treatment appointments.
